Sir Walter Raleigh – His life and poetry St Mary's Church, 7pm

On Sunday 28th October 2018 we’ll be marking the 400th anniversary of Sir Walter Raleigh’s death by hosting a short evening of reflections upon his life and his poetry.

West Horsley has a long association with Sir Walter, as does St Mary’s itself, given that it has long been assumed that his head is buried in the Nicholas chapel of the Church.

So join us at 7pm as we mark the death of someone who was a notable Elizabethan, had a huge impact on the nation during his lifetime, and who once featured in the BBC’s 100 Greatest Britons poll.
