Children’s & Youth Ministry

stmarys-children-imageWe exist to value everyone, grow deeper in our relationship with God, be real with each other and be united generationally.

CYM Value Statement

Our Children’s and Youth Ministry (CYM) is a crucial part of St Mary’s life.

There are three groups that operate in our 10.45 Sunday Morning Service: Roots (0 to Reception age), Construction Zone (school years 1 to 5) and I.D. (school years 6 to 10). On Sunday evenings, we have a youth group called Reclaim, for young people in school years 6-13.

Young people in school years 11 to 13 are involved in the 10.45 morning service along with the other adults, and are encouraged to get stuck in and take an active role in serving across the church.

We seek to teach the bible in an engaging and relevant way along with games, activities, prayer and many other things specific to the age groups, to help the children and young people grow in their relationships with God and live it out.

We recognise the importance of living out our relationship with God together as a Christian community and that is why we seek to deepen the relationships across the CYM groups when they meet and through other events across the year such as BBQs, bowling and laser quest trips. For more information about our groups and activities, please see the group relevant to your child’s age.

“To be working in patnership with parents to help all Children and Youth grow towards full maturity in Christ through proclaiming and modelling the good news of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit while equipping and releasing all the Children and Youth to use their God given gifts, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, as part of an authentic Christian community that is united generationally”
