Children

We are passionate about the next generation here at St Mary’s and we believe that church should be a place where children can have fun, make friends and explore more about God within a safe and welcoming community.

Sundays at 10.45am

When you arrive at East Horsley Village Hall, our team will welcome you and your children and introduce themselves. You will be shown how to check your children in using our tablet – don’t forget to collect a name badge!

We start the service all together with a family worship song and then the children will head out to their groups:

  • Roots – 0-Reception
  • Construction Zone – School Year’s 1-5
  • I.D. – School Year’s 6-10

We recognise the importance for children and young people to find a place where they feel at home and can explore what a relationship with Jesus means for them. We have a dedicated team of passionate children’s leaders who will help your children to enjoy games, bible stories, songs, craft activities and have loads of other fun together.

The children will be brought back into the main hall at the end of the service for drinks and biscuits together.

The village hall is surrounded by lovely park-land and a children’s play area, which is enjoyed by our families before/after the service.

Throughout the year, we also like to have kids and family socials together such as picnics, BBQ’s and parties. Keep an eye on our St Mary’s social media and website for all up-coming events.

Safeguarding Children and Young People

We take safeguarding seriously and to ensure we offer the best possible care, all of our children’s leaders have a current DBS check and we adhere to the Diocesan Child Protection Policy ‘In Safe Hands’.

Our Safeguarding Officer at St Mary’s is Hazel Black (pictured).

We know the joys and challenges that parents and guardians face in raising their children and young people in this day and age. Through all that we do, we want to seek to support you in that and also offer opportunities to get together with the other parents in St Mary’s to get encouragement and support. We also try to run parenting courses at least twice a year.

Here is our Spotify playlist of children’s songs that we sing in our services and kids groups so you can worship at home or in the car together:
