Eco Church
St Mary’s has a growing vision of being an eco-friendly church. We want to be a community that cares for God’s creation – both corporately and individually through conscious lifestyle choices.
We have signed up to A Rocha’s Eco Church Programme in 2022 and are currently holder of the Bronze Award. (Watch this space for progress!) We have an enthusiastic Eco-Team, working on the vision and making it a reality.
We worship God the Creator and honour Him by being careful stewards of His handiwork and enjoying it gratefully.
‘He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth – the Lord God Almighty is his name.’ (Amos 4:13)

We had over 30 fantastic entries to our photography competition – a big thank you to everyone who took part. We loved seeing all of the photos and what a wonderful way to celebrate some of God’s creation, right here on our doorsteps.

This project is part of Horsleys’ C.A.N. (Climate Action Network) – a community group originally established as a joint West and East Horsley Parish Councils initiative. The group now acts as an independent community group, with the full backing of the parish councils.
