Safeguarding

We take safeguarding very seriously here at St Mary’s to ensure we offer the best possible care for all our children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Our Commitments

  • Promoting a safe environment and culture
  • Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility to children and adults with safeguarding needs
  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
  • Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse or other affected persons
  • Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns/allegations of abuse and other affected persons
  • Responding to those who may pose a present risk.

All those working with children have a current DBS check and we adhere to the Diocesan Child Protection Policy ‘In Safe Hands’. Registration is essential for all Children and Youth activities to assist us in the safeguarding and care of your children and young people.
